Apple Crumble Loaf

Apple Crumble Loaf

Ingredients
For the loaf:
1 cup white granulated sugar
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon cinnamon
1 egg
1 cup milk from a local DFA farmer-owner brand
⅓ cup melted butter from a local DFA farmer--owner brand
2 large apples, peeled and grated

For the crumble topping:
4-6 tablespoons butter from a local famer-owner brand
½ cup all-purpose flour
½ cup brown sugar
½ teaspoon cinnamon

Method
For the loaf:
Heat oven to 350 F. Grease and line a loaf pan with parchment paper. 
Combine sugar, flour, baking powder, salt and cinnamon; set aside. 
Beat egg, milk and butter in a separate bowl until just combined. 
Gradually add dry mixture to wet until just moist and fold in the grated apple. 

For the crumble topping:
ombine butter, flourl, sugar and cinnamon with a fork until crumbly. Be careful not to overmix. 

To assemble: 
Pour half of the loaf mixture into the pan, and then sprinkle on a layer of the crumble topping. Repeat with the rest of the batter and crumble topping. 
Bake for 60 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Baking times can vary, so watch your loaf!
